Draw and Paint9

You don’t need to be able to draw. That’s the whole point.

Using simple techniques, acrylic paints and paint pens, you’ll create up to four layered bird paintings in a single session. And you’ll wonder why you ever thought you couldn’t.

Out in nature first

We head out for a guided walk to find birds in the trees, around lakes and through scrubland, with Livvy sharing tips for spotting and identifying what you see. No binoculars? There are some to borrow.

The birds you meet on the walk become the inspiration for your paintings, though you’re always welcome to paint a favourite from home too.

Venue note: walk and workshop locations confirmed on booking. Livvy has recommended venues across Bristol and Gloucestershire.

Then we paint

A 2.5 to 3 hour painting session using acrylics and paint pens. Livvy guides you through each step, from sketching a simple bird shape to building up colour and texture in layers. Templates available if you’d prefer a ready-made outline.
You’ll finish with four medium paintings. Most people find it surprisingly hard to give them away.
